Description
"This green, red and natural colored basket, woven from honeysuckle, is beautifully made in the shape of a pitcher with spout and gracefully curved handle, but aniline dye has been used for coloring, which makes it less valuable than if natural vegetable dye had been used. The basket is 7 1/2 inches high and, at its widest spot, 7 inches in diameter. It comes from the Cherokees in North Carolina."
2007 - Honeysuckle baskets were always made to sell. They were art objects rather than practical pieces. There are 7 rows per inch.
