Description
Designed by Jacob E. Bang in 1928. This spirits bottle has been synonymous with Holmegaard glass design for many years. The Kluk-Kluk decanter draws its name from the noise it makes when liquid is poured, noise that is amplified by this bottle. Initially used oly for schnapps, this bottle is very popular in Denmark and over time, it was produced by Holmegaard in a myriad of shapes, sizes and colors. The first Kluk-Kluk design by Jacob Bang was produced in 1928 but Bang kept revisiting the piece. This model was probably designed in the late 1950s or early 1960s and retains its original label. An example of  Mid Century Design, the beautiful glass bottle is made of mouth blown transparent glass, which makes it particularly decorataive with either whisky or cognac in it on the bar trolley. The body of the Spirits bottle has four columns. The very special kluk or glug-glugging sound when the liquid is poured from the bottle and encounters the air inthe bottle's columns is the reason for its name in Danish: the "Kluk" bottle.
