Description
Dark stained wood armless chair with wide top rail with double scroll at top and bottom edges. Rounded seat has tacked on brown leather panel (may be covering where a caned seat used to be). Pairs of turned horizontal spindles front, back, and sides. Two back legs extend to for the back. All legs are rounded and taper. Bent wood supports join the back uprights to the seat.
The chair was a wedding gift to the donor's grandmother, Hilda Wretman Johnson, in October 12, 1904 when she married Reverend Johnson. It was passed through the family to the donor's mother and then to him.
