Description

Carved wooden mangle board created by Hanney Jakob Petersen. Hanney J. Petersen, born in 1913 in  Åbenrå,  Denmark, donated this wood carving in the early 2000s when he was visiting his family who immigrated to Minnesota. A life long wood carver, he made many carvings from driftwood he found along the west coast of Jutland. His son, Svend Petersen suggests the wood is likely egetræ (oak.)
