This certificate shows the Masonic Record and emblematic History of August Schinbaum, who earned Master Mason status on May 18, 1866. The record includes his birth date and photo. August was a part of the Preston Masonic Lodge, No. 36. Those signing the certificate on November 4, 1872 included H. R. Wells, G. T. Baker, R. B. Ingvaham, S. G. Baskett, and Grand Secretary William G. Combs. There are several cupids, anges and other people depicted over the certificate. A few other scenes such as an ocean scene and waterfall are depicted in color across the certificate. The document is houses in a wooden frame of brown, black and gold coloring.
