Description

For Christmas in 1970, Fillmore County artist Harvey Bernard gifted this painting of Harold Mangan to Harold himself.  The scene portrays Harold seated on a wagon set up with runners for winter travel.  The draft horses Cindy and Sandi pulled the wagon.  Orville Wright Mangan commissioned Harvey Bernard to paint this scene from a photo.  The photo and painting show the location of the scene on the five acre hobby farm outside of Chatfield on County 2.  For many years Harold drove in many Western Days celebrations and entered in many other horse shows.
