Description

This is a hand painted scene of woods, trees, sky and stream by the local artist Rosa Shattuck of Highland. She painted the picture in the early 1900's, showing a view of the river in what looks to be of later autumn. Birch trees no longer have most of their leaves decorating their boughs, though many other trees in the background, particularly evergreens, still have their leaves. The sky has a touch of pink in it for a sunrise or sunset.  "Rosa" is located on the back of the gold frame.
