Description
Rueben Vrieze answered the call for aid upon the United States' entry into World War I. He served as a private in Company B of the 311 Infantry. Rueben was born on September 7, 1893 and died on July 13, 1958. This sketch shows Rueben in his battle gear holding his rifle with the attached bayonet. Both the sketch and glass are convex. Together with the frame, they are oval shaped. The frame is made of wood with plaster of paris painted gold and sporting the American eagle and shield at the top with the flag on each side and a wreath at the bottom.
