Description
Upon the entry of the United States to World War I, which officially took place on April 4, 1917, drafts were performed to help bolster up the military all over the country. In Fillmore County, the second call for the draft came on February 25, 1918. Local photographer Moen & Palen photographed the group enlisting that day with a couple members of the Fillmore County Draft Board, Sheriff E. K. Blexrud and Dr. George A. Love.
Walter Joseph is identified in this photo as the last man on the right in the back row standing on the highest section. There are four other men to the right before the edge of the photo who are standing on a shorter section.
The photo is held in a simple wooden frame painted black.
