Description
Upon the entry of the United States to World War I, which officially took place on April 4, 1917, drafts were performed to help bolster up the military all over the country. In Fillmore County, the ninth call for the draft came on October 24, 1918, mere weeks before the Armistice was signed. Local photographer Moen & Palen photographed the group enlisting that day with a couple members of the Fillmore County Draft Board, Sheriff E. K. Blexrud and Dr. George A. Love.
This photo is held in a simple, grainy wooden frame that does have a golden accent on the innermost edge.
