Description

At one time, businesses created a number of different items to help advertise their businesses or thank their customers for their patronage. One such item was a thermometer placed inside a piece of artwork. This thermometer was created by Goodman's Garage which was located in Fountain, Minnesota. The decoration surrounding the thermometer is a silhouette of a young boy sitting on the bank of a river with a long piece of grass in his mouth and a fishing pole in his hands, line dangling in the water. A flock of geese fly above him.  The thermometer is held in a simple, aluminum frame painted gold.
