Description

This is a sign which was used to advertise M. M. Blunt's Hardware store in Preston. It depicts a Negro looking over fence at watermelon patch. Above the depiction was a note for one mile to the store, but it was cup of in the middle of the number 1. The board may be been reused to create something in the past due to this cut and the beginning of an angled cut in the middle of the fence painting prior to the person seeing what was on the front of the board.
