Description

1. White silk ribbon with blue lettering and decorations. Ribbon has very short straight fringe/fraying on top and bottom. Ribbon reads: "HOSE CO. No. 1 Beatrice Represented by J.C. SCOTT, H.L. HARPER, ED. HACKNEY. N.S.V.F.A. NORFOLK, Jan'y 16-17-18, .1900." Width: 2.25 inches Length: 8. 875 inches
2. Red silk ribbon with black lettering and decorations. Ribbon has no fringe/fraying on top and very slight fringe/fraying on the bottom. Ribbon reads: "Compliments OF DAVID CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT DELEGATES TO 18th Annual Convention N.S.V.F.A., Norfolk, Nebraska. JAN. 16-17-18, 1900." Width: 2.0 inches Length: 8.25 inches
3. White silk ribbon with black lettering and decorations. Ribbon has very short straight fringe/fraying on top and bottom. On the top half of the ribbon is a graphic with a hose buggy in a circular laurel leaf frame. At the base of the frame is a crossed hose and ax with a firefighter helmet and lantern. Ribbon reads: "GENEVA [graphic] HOSE COMPANIES NOS. 1 and 2. H.F. MOHRMAN, Chief. J.H. SAGER, President. O.C. HOUCHIN, Secretary. J.L. BUNKER, Treasurer. Foreman No. 1, J.L. BUNKER. Ribbon features a cartoon graphic with a man struggling to ride a frantic galloping horse with his top hat and his copy of The Pilgrim's Progress flying away. 8. White silk ribbon with black lettering and decorations. Ribbon has very short fringe/fraying on top and very short fringe/fraying on the bottom cut diagonally from right to left. On the center of the ribbon is a cartoon graphic featuring two men (one older and the other younger) in suits. The younger man's suit is large and frumpy. They are looking at each other with the older man's right hand resting on the younger man's right shoulder. Ribbon reads: "COMPLIMENTS OF M.M. FALK, Job Printer, BEATRICE, NEB. [cartoon graphic image caption] Father--Jim, I'am sur-prised; you look like a last years bird's nest. Son--Been to Norfolk, Dad, and I feel like hell; but lord, how the fur did fly. There is a graphic of a horseshoe decorated with a bow and leafy vines on top of the ribbon. In the middle of the ribbon is a graphic of a fire hose wagon. Ribbon reads: "1873. 1900. COMPLIMENTS OF Engine Co. No. 1, Hose Co. No. 1 and No. 2. COLUMBUS FIRE DEP'T. COLUMBUS, NEB." Width: 2.0 inches Length: 8.0 inches
10. Red silk ribbon with black lettering and decorations. Duplicate design as the previous light blue ribbon (Ribbon #9). Ribbon has very slight straight fringe/fraying on the top. Ribbon is cut with two triangular corners on the bottom. There is a graphic of a horseshoe decorated with a bow and leafy vines on top of the ribbon. In the middle of the ribbon is graphic cartoon with a young girl and boy kissing each other and holding hands. The girl is wearing a hooded prairie bonnet, a black dress with a white waist apron, white stockings, and black shoes. The boy is wearing a round-brim straw hat, a white long-sleeve shirt, black overalls, and black boots. There is a forest in the background. Ribbon reads: "COMPLIMENTS OF W.V.F.D. Wilbur NEB.
