A dress or formal suit uniform of the St. Paul (Minnesota) Fire Department. Dark/navy blue suit hat, coat and pants. The uniform includes: a hat, white dress shirt, a black tie clip, coat, pants, and a pair of black dress shoes.The parts of the uniform, in detail:
- A (Hat): Dark/navy blue polyester fabric hat. Bell cap style. Hat size 7. Thick black lining around the outer rim of the hat. Shiny black plastic and faux leather visor. Attached to the front of the hat is a shiny silver metal badge for the St. Paul Fire Department. On top of the badge is a bald eagle. The badge has a starburst border. The top and inner ring of the badge has engraved black lettering that reads: "ST. PAUL FIRE DEPARTMENT". The center of the badge features crossed traditional firefighting tool such as a helmet, a ladder, a hook, a hose nozzle, and a horn. On the left and right sides of the hat are round silver metal buttons that are stamped "F.D." surrounded by a pair of laurel leaves. The hat has a brown faux leather inner lining. Sewn into the interior of the hat is a clear plastic sleeve with a paper card that reads: [written in black pen] 30 Jun 80 #304 [printed address label sticker] WILLIAM J LANGEVIN 1742 COTTAGE AVE SAINT PAUL, MINN. 55106 [written in black pen] 774-7488". - B (Dress Shirt): White cotton collared button down dress shirt. The shirt has small white plastic buttons. Width at the shoulders: 20.0 inches Length: 26.0 inches Both measurements are approximate.
- C (Clip-On Tie): Black cotton clip-on tie. Knot on the top.
- D (Uniform Coat): Dark/navy blue suit coat. Polyester and cotton. The collar of the coat is decorated with black felt/velvet. The collar has 2 large round silver metal buttons that are identical to the buttons down the front of the coat. Double-breasted style. with two parallel rows of 10 large round silver metal buttons (5 in each row). The buttons are decorated with 2 small 5-pointed stars and read: "ST. PAUL FIRE DEPARTMENT", There is a metal plate sewn on the left breast of the coat to hang/place a badge (no badge currently included with the uniform). The coat has 2 pockets (one on the lower left and one on the lower right) with flaps over them. Both sleeve cuffs have sets of three decorative small round silver metal buttons (6 total on the coat). Stamped on these small buttons in a decorative and interwoven script: "SPFD". There are 4 grey/silver stripes on the left sleeve cuff. The coat has a black inner lining. - E (Suit Pants): Dark/navy blue polyester/cotton dress suit pants. The pants have a pleat down the front of both legs. There are belt loops around the waist of the pants. The pants have a small black button and metal zipper fly. Width at the waist: 18.0 inches Length of the legs: about 40.5 inches
- F & G (Dress Shoes; F is the left shoe and G is the right shoe): Shiny black faux leather dress shoes with black rubber soles. Lace-up style with thin laces. Width: about 6.0 inches Length: about 13.5 inches Height: 5.0 inches.
