Award plaque from the American Red Cross Minneapolis (Minnesota) Area Chapter to the Minneapolis (Minnesota) Fire Department in recognition of its continued support of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Program, given on May 21, 1981.
Wooden base with a bolted metal plate. The wooden base is stained a dark color. It is rectangular and vertical with rounded corners. Gold and black metal plate. On top of the plaque is a circular metal plaque. Printed in red on the medal is the American Red Cross logo and name. The medal rests in a circular plastic base with a pair of laurel leaves on the left and right sides. The plaque has engraved gold lettering that reads: "MINNEAPOLIS AREA CHAPTER PRESENTS THIS AWARD TO MINNEAPOLIS FIRE DEPARTMENT CLARENCE NIMMERFROH, CHIEF IN RECOGNITION OF ITS CONTINUOUS SUPPORT OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS DISASTER RELIEF PROGRAM FOR VICTIMS OF FIRE AND OTHER NATURAL DISASTERS May 21, 1981". The back of the plaque is painted black and has two drilled in hanging holes. Also on the back is a shiny gold manufacturer sticker with black lettering that reads: "POMMER TROPHY COMPANY 115 NORTH 7th Street Minneapolis, Minnesota 55403 PHONE (612) 335-2343".
