Description
Yellow hard plastic/fiberglass contemporary-styled firefighter helmet from the Brooklyn Park Fire Department in Hennepin County, Minnesota. Round shape with a wide bottom brim, especially in the back. The bottom rim of the helmet is trimmed in black rubber. Slight round Mohawk on the top. On the front of the helmet is a red and white department badge sticker. The badge is in the shape of a round Maltese cross. Printed in red lettering around the cross: "BROOKLYN [Top] / PARK [Bottom] / FIRE [Left] / DEPT. [Right]". A rope frames the center image of a scramble of firefighting tools including a traditional American firefighter helmet, a ladder, a pole, a pike, a hose nozzle, and a bugle/horn. Attached to the sides of the helmet with round steel bolts is a clear plastic face shield. Around the helmet and on the back of the helmet are five horizontal reflective orange stripes. On the back of the helmet is a silver metal hanging loop/ring. A manufacturer mark is stamped on the back of the bottom of the helmet and reads "CAIRNS & BROS". On the interior of the helmet is a thick grey plastic lining with a plastic and black polyester strip inner crown system. The inner crown system includes a thick light brown cotton fabric lining and neck covering. Attached to the sides of the helmet is a thick black cotton neck strap with a silver metal claw buckle.
