Description
A framed collection of five fire badges from the Minneapolis (Minnesota) Fire Department. The badges are mounted in a gold metal frame with a glass glaze and red fabric matting. The frame has a red velvet-covered cardboard backing that slides out from the bottom. 
The badges in detail:
  • A [Top Badge]: Silver metal badge. Rounded triangular shaped. The raised lettering on the badge reads "MINNEAPOLIS / 273 / FIRE / DEPT". 
  • B [Middle Badge]: Large silver metal badge. Rounded shield shaped. The stamped lettering on the badge reads "ASST. ENG. / ENGINE / 16 / MINNEAPOLIS / FIRE DEPT. / 8." 
  • C [Left badge on the bottom row]: Small silver metal badge. Round shape. Bald eagle on the top. The stamped lettering on the badge reads "FIREMAN / MINNEAPOLIS / FIRE DEPARTMENT". The raised numbers in the middle of the badge read "273". 
  • D [Middle of the bottom row]: Small brass metal tag. Round and circular shaped with a hanging hole on the top. The stamped lettering on the tag reads "MPLS. / 16 / FIRE DEPT.". 
  • E [Right badge on the bottom row]: Small gold brass metal badge. Rounded shield shaped with a bald eagle on the top. The bald eagle holds a ribbon with black letters that read "FIREMAN". The black lettering around the badge reads "GEO. W. HALL / 18 45 / MPLS. FIRE DEPT. / U.F.A.82 [Uniformed Firefighters Association?]". In the middle of the badge is a small Maltese cross. On the petals "I / A / F [International Association of Firefighters]". The lettering on the white enamel ring reads "ORG FEB 28 1918". In the red center is "F".
