Description
Faraday brand fire alarm. Large Vertical rectangular bronze metal panel. In the center of the panel is a rectangular door that can open from the left (the hinges are on the right side). On the top of the door is a small horizontal rectangular button with raised lettering on it that reads "STRIKE / WITH HAND / TO BREAK GLASS". The glass mentioned is absent and missing. Under the button is a small horizontal rectangular brass metal plate that is engraved "FARADAY". Under the brass plate is a small vertical rectangular box. The upper button would be pushed to break the glass covering this part of the device. Inside this part is a silver metal plate and a silver lever [original lever appears to be missing]. To the left side of this box is a circular key hole with a small silver triangle in the center. Under the small box and key hole is raised text that reads "FIRE ALARM / BREAK GLASS / PULL LEVER". On the interior side of the door is the cast-iron glass-breaking mechanism and the door lock and catch. Raised numbers on the left side of the door read "9922". Inside the door is the alarm device. It has a round red steel metal top with a bronze metal key hole, a round silver metal switch. The key hole is engraved "SARGENT". Under the key hole and the switch is raised silver lettering that reads "PULL LEVER / DOWN ONCE / AND LET GO". This red door is locked. Above the alarm is a small round red indicator light. To the left of the light is a blue and silver sticker for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers with the number "A9548033". The back of the bronze panel has the silver metal spring hinges for the front door, and two purple rubber covered copper electrical wires to power the alarm. These wires have been cut. The back of the alarm device rests outside of the bronze panel. It is black steel metal and circular shaped.
