Description

A red metal (possibly aluminum) manual call point alarm (INV2023.983a) and key (INV2023.983b).

a) The alarm device consists of a box with a hinged lid. A square opening is in the center of the lid. A glass plate was previously covering the opening. Above the opening, near the top of the lid, is the German word for Fire Brigade, “Feuerwehr.” A key slot is to the left of the opening. A metal circle is attached by a nail, directly above the key slot. On the right side of the opening is a paper label that features the written text “also to use as a bell - button.” The manufacturer’s mark “NT” is printed below the opening. A black button against white plastic backing is visible through the opening. The black German text “Scheibe einschlagen” is above the bottom, while the text “Knofe tief drucken” is below. The text translates to “Smash the window, press the button deeply/firmly.” Inside the box, visible around the plastic, is a green colored circuit board.

b) A silver colored metal key with an oval head. The end of the key was sawed off.
