A trussed single ladder made of wood and located on the first bracket of the 1919 American LaFrance Fire Truck (2001.01.001.1-2), directly below the aerial ladder. There are twenty-four (24) round wooden rungs between the two (2) trussed wooden beams. Each rung is 1.5 inches high and 14 inches apart. A metal strip runs across every fourth rung. The ends of the beams are covered with black painted metal, which include two (2) prong-like short extensions. All wooden components of the ladder are stained and have a varnish finish.
