Two (2) square boxes (a-b) mounted on the left and right tiller side platforms of the 1919 American LaFrance Fire Truck (2001.01.001.1-2). The boxes are made of hard wood. A hinged lid is on the front facing side of the boxes, while the tops are covered in corrugated rubber and have 3/4 inch wide brass strips bolted around the border. A black and yellow square is painted around the borders of the front and sides of the boxes.

A) The box is located on the right tiller side platform near the truck's tractor. The metal hinges on the front facing lid are near the bottom of the box, while the metal latch is near the top of the box. The wooden interior is painted green. A leather strap is nailed to the right side of the interior, near the front. Sticking out of the opposite end of the strap is a single rusted nail.

B) The box is located on the left tiller side platform near the truck's tractor. The metal hinges and latch on the front facing lid are removed. The lid is nailed shut.
