A box mounted on the left tiller side platform of the 1919 American LaFrance Fire Truck (2001.01.001.1-2). The box is made of hard wood that is stained and varnished. The lid of the box is covered with corrugated rubber and secured to the base by a metal latch on the front facing side of the box. Directly below the latch is the text "SMOKE MASK" painted in gold with black highlights. Also, black and gold lines frame the left, front, and right outer sides of the boxes, while the interior is painted green.
