Description
A pair of black firefighter's boots (a,b) that are currently displayed on the left tiller side platform of the 1919 American LaFrance Fire Truck (2001.01.001.1-2). The outer surface of the boots are made of black synthetic rubber while the interior is lined with fabric. Two (2) curved, round straps are attached to the inside of the boots, on the sides of the top edges. For both boots, a yellow strip runs around the base of the forefoot. Two (2) faded green and gold labels are adhered to the front facing side of the boots' shins. The green text "ROYAL" is printed near the top of the label, above the gold test "Full Steel/Safety Sole." What appears to be a gold Maltese cross is in the center of the label, while the green text "Uniroyal" is near the bottom.
