Description

A fire hook attached to the right side bracket of the truck bed on the M.F.D. Pumper Truck (2001.02.001). The fire hook consists of a long wooden pole that is painted red, a metal hook at one end, and a chain on the other end. The shape of the hook is similar to that of a shepherd's hook. The 30.5 inch long chain has another, smaller hook on the end that is shaped like a fisher's hook. A small circular pendant is hanging from a single chain link attached near the hook end of the chain. The text featured on the pendant reads "Mpls Fire Dept 1."
