Description

Leggings: World War I canvas leggings. The leggings are brown canvas. There is a metal strip at each edge. One edge has a metal grommet at the top and bottom and a hook in the center. The other edge has 4 metal grommets along the edge and another grommet by the top one. There is a 1/8" wide olive drab woven cord inserted through the holes. Stamped in black along the top on the 5 grommet side is "___ ___/___/___ ___/MADE BY/___ ___/4 (star)". The print is ery faded and blurred. C

Worn by Dr. Myron W. Smith of Red Wing. He was a Captain in the Medical Corps at Camp Custer, Michigan. Joined the service August 23, 1918.
