Description
Purse: Dark green velvet evening purse, 4 5/8" tall, 5 1/8" wide at the top tapering out to 8 1/8" wide at the bottom. The frame is gold metal with small engraved wavy lines on the outside and larger wavy lines on the inside. The purse opens with a gold clasp. Each clasp is made of two gold balls. The handle is a gold chain 5 1/2" long. The interior is lined with black polished cotton. The frame has rust spots. There are black spots and a few small holes on the velvet.

Creola T. Marquette Pirius Tupa (Mrs. William G. Pirius) is the donor. Creola Marquette Pirius (2/18/1911-2/17/1991) was born in Wilmot, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Edward and Clara Marquette. She married William Pirius. They lived in Red Wing. In 1960, she bought Fitzsimmon's Hat Shop and named it Creola's. She retired in 1985.
