Description
Purse: Brown ribbed cotton purse, 5" long, 7 3/4" wide at the top with a rounded bottom. The top of the purse has three large scallops. The purse sides are ribbed cotton in vertical and horizontal lines forming large triangle and tear drop shapes. The ribbed cotton on the top of the sides form vertical curvy lines. The handle is vertical ribbed cotton and is 3/4" wide and 4 1/2" long. The handle goes from front to back. The purse closes with a gold zipper. The zipper pull is a gold ring attached to a small diamond shaped ring. The interior is lined with brown grosgrain cotton.

Creola T. Marquette Pirius Tupa (Mrs. William G. Pirius) is the donor. Creola Marquette Pirius (2/18/1911-2/17/1991) was born in Wilmot, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Edward and Clara Marquette. She married William Pirius. They lived in Red Wing. In 1960, she bought Fitzsimmon's Hat Shop and named it Creola's. She retired in 1985.
