Jacket: Brown wool suit jacket. The jacket is brown with black topstitching. There is no collar. The stitching under the neck forms a slight "v". There is a 9 hook and eye front closure. The bottom hook and eye is for a decorative belt. The belt does not cover the basting (gathering) stitches. There is a row of 3 brown wool-covered buttons on each side of the front opening. There is a vertical stripe stitching down each side by the opening. There is a very small split peplum. It is lined with olive green silk that is shredding. There is a loop at the back of the neck for hanging. Condition - The jacket is faded badly. The lining is shredding, especially under the arms. There are tidelines. The right sleeve and back have holes. MOLD? - The bodice may have had mold. There was no noticeable mold but the skirt had mold. It was laid out to dry and was vacuumed on 1/17/2006.
