Description
Nightgown: White muslin nightgown (or chemise?). It is three-fourths length. It has short, capped sleeves. There is a V neckline with a narrow beige ribbon threaded through it that ties at the front. There is a drawstring at the neckline. There are four white buttons down the top back (three plain buttons and one with "x"s). The button opening is 8" long. The sleeves and yoke are hand crocheted and have a diamond and flower pattern. Between the crocheted yoke and the bottom of the buttons is a slightly gathered panel of muslin, then 11" down is another gathered panel. In this section you can see how the nightgown was "let down" as the person grew. The bottom panel is 11 1/2" wide and is slightly gathered. There is eyelet around the bottom and a scalloped bottom edge. The bottom panel is lined. Where the bottom panel is attached there is a 1/2" narrow swirl decorative bias tape.
