"Barber Bottles: Colorful glass bottles found on shelves and counters in barber shops, held the liquids barbers used daily. It was back in the late 1800s and early 1900s that men would meet at the barbershops or tonsorial parlors and have their beards trimmed or to be shaved. It was of great importance to have your own decorated bottles to hold your aftershave or hair tonic and then the barber shops would also have their own distinguishable bottles that they could refill from drums in the back room. All of these beautiful bottles were displayed on shelves behind the barber chairs." See location screen.
