Description

This hand-painted, crescent-shaped mural advertises the Austin's Sporting Goods shop in Canton, Minnesota.  The mural is multi-colored in muted tones.  It is one of two that was affixed outside the Austin property.  The other was in poor shape and never donated.  The shop, which dealt in firearms in the 1940's, was located in the family barn off county road 21 north of Canton.

The mural depicts a scene overlooking the river next to some pastureland and hills splattered with trees.  The stenciled letters were painted in red, and made to look 3D with a yellow shadow.
