2024.002.001 George Hazzard joined the military at age 17. It was a family tradition to be in the service. He sent money home to help support his mother. He had no major recollections from basic training at Samson Air Force Base in New York or advanced training for auto maintenance (Laturno Technical Institute in Longview, Texas). He worked mainly as transportation dispatch throughout most of his 20 year military career - arranging truck or bus transport and drivers as needed on various bases. A large number of domestic military base locations. He spent time in Germany, Morocco, Korea as dispatch. Also Vietnam in fuel depot transport. He had a lot of family obligation throughout his career. He ended up at the Duluth Air Force Base as an E6 - retired from service at age 37. He held various civilian jobs after that.
