Black-and-white photograph of three members of the Ferrell family: (from left to right) Sophrona C. (Ferrell) Johnston, Eugene DeWitt Ferrell, and Zina S. (Ferrell) Patterson Murphy. Photo is circa 1930s (a note on the bottom states "1939" but this is incorrect, as Zina Murphy died in 1933). According to a note in the file folder, the photograph was taken in San Luis Obispo, California. The three are standing outside on the lawn in front of a house; two large windows and a covered porch are visible behind them. There are trees next to and behind them. The three are siblings, children of David Compton and Sarah Beebe Ferrell. At the time of the photo, Sophrona Ferrell Johnston and Zina Ferrell Murphy were both in their seventies, while Eugene Ferrell was in his sixties. All are dressed nicely; Sophrona is wearing a long floral dress with a cardigan sweater, while Zina is wearing an ankle-length dress covered by a long dress coat. Eugene is wearing a button-down shirt, a zippered sweater, and slacks. Handwritten in ink on the back of the photo are the names and birth/death dates of the photo's subjects:
"Sophrona C. Johnston (Ferrell) 1856-1942, Eugene DeWitt Ferrell 1872-1951, and Zina S. (Ferrell) Patterson Murphy 1854-1933." Photograph was donated by Mrs. Reg. Ferrell.
