Description
2024.016.009A) Model 1852 USN officer's sword- The stainless steel  blade is etched 3/4 of the way down. Blade ricasso: six-pointed star with the word "Proved" etched. At the top  is E .E. Drinkwater. A  pommel is at the top of the grip and acts as a counterweight. The guard is cast brass and maybe 24 carat gold plated. The grip is ivory covered plastic with imitation sting-ray skin with golden wires wrapped around it. The loop is a gold braid with tassel.
2024.016.009B)  The scabbard protects the sword. It is a fiberglass tube covered with leather or faux leather. Two of the brass  fittings have loops for the belt. The last is at the very bottom. All are decorated.
2024.016.009C) The black vinyl case has an attached sword belt and and short belt strap. There is a large brass clip to secure the belt.
2024.016.009D)  a gray cloth fits inside the case to protect the scabbard,
