Description
Girl Scout sash worn by Gwen Reinke in the 1960s as part of Cannon Valley Troop 304. It is made of green multi-fiber fabric (polyester and rayon). Badges and pins are affixed from top to bottom on the side of the sash that crosses the front of the body.
At the shoulder, there is a curved green patch with red stitching spelling out "Cannon Valley." A Star of Bethlehem badge (embroidered with yellow and white daffodils) is stitched on below "Cannon Valley." Below that are three patches with white stitching that form the "304" troop number.
A white paper tag is sewn into one of the long seams. The tag contains the Girl Scout logo, fabric composition, price (75 cents), item number (0-407), and instructions for how to wear the sash properly over a uniform.
Underneath the troop number there is a Girl Scout Membership pin, with two Junior pins beneath it. To the right of these pins are two badges stacked on top of one another. On the top is a Personal Health badge and the badge below is almost completely obscured with only the green border visible. Below this are two pins, one is the golden Girl Scout pin and beneath that is the World Trefoil pin.
In the center of the sash is a Sign of the Arrow badge. Beneath this badge are seven rows of badges, all made of various colors of thread with a green background and darker green stitched border.
First Row: Merit badge, Hospitality badge, and Mammal badge
Second Row: Food Raiser badge, Books badge, and Dairying badge
Third Row: My Community badge, Magic Carpet badge, and Gypsy badge
Fourth Row: Child Care badge, Cook badge, and Skater badge
Fifth Row: Backyard Fun badge, Cyclist badge, and Housekeeper badge
Sixth Row: Pen Pal badge and Collector badge
Seventh Row: Storyteller badge
On the back of the sash there is a single badge on the lower right corner. This is the Indian Lore badge.
