Description
A grey-blue pith helmet owned by Cyril Hart. The helmet was made by Midwest Helmets. It has a domed shell and a wide brim that curves downward. There are multiple small holes drilled into the domed shell. The shell has a series of raised lines leading up to the top, where there is a raised bubble.

Inside the helmet, there is a leather strap fixed around the circumference that was used to keep the helmet on during use. It appears that a shoelace was attached to the metal holding the strap in place, perhaps used for additional stability and security.

Cyril Hart wrote his name inside the helmet in black ink, as well as his first and last initial. On one of the shorter ends of the hat, there is a label glued to the plastic material. It assures the wearer that the helmet was constructed according to relevant legal standards. On the opposite end, "Made in the U.S.A." and "Midwest Helmets" are spelled out in small, raised plastic letters.
