Description
A crocheted hot pad made by Mary A. Hart. The crocheted section is wrapped around a Pro Tex table mat.

The table mat has a white backing surrounded by an aluminum frame. The backing may be made of or contain asbestos, as many other Pro-Tex products from this time period were made using asbestos. On the back, wrapped around the lower curve of the mat, written in black text, reads "This is a genuine Pro-Tex table mat... do not use over flame." The top of the pad is covered in aluminum as well. The crocheted cover wraps around the back of the mat.

The crocheted cover is a floral pattern with a red flower in the center. Extending from the flower are lines of green, which end in red and white crocheted ruffles. The yarn used is thin and most likely made of cotton.
