Description

Boatneck shift dress made of white muslin with pleats at midsection and double folded hem. Gathered fabric short sleeves. Donated by Vera-Inez Porter of St. Paul in 1960. Worn by Vera-Inez Porter on June 17th, 1959 for her and her husband Fred Porter's 17th wedding anniversary. On this date, the couple renewed their marriage vows at Gethsemane Episcopal Church. Renewing wedding vows was very uncommon in the Episcopal church, which gives this dress its historical significance.
