Envelope addressed to Wm. Beasley, Lynd, MN.  1843 - 1865 Historical Papers for Lyon Co. Historical So., Marshall" is hand written on the envelope.  The envelope contains several documents from the Civil and Pre-civil war.  They include: 1.)  Regimental Order from the 8th Regiment, Connecticut. Copy of report of Lt. Wilkinson on action State Infantry dated 28 Aug. 1843. 2.) Veto message from President Davis to the Confederate Senate, Mar. 11, 1865. 3.) An act the Virginia Legislature requiring slave owners to furnish slaves to work on fortifications.  March 14, 1863.4.)  Letter from the Confederate States of America Department of Justice to the President of the CSA, 13 February 1865.  5.)  Copy of report of Lt. I; K; Wilkinson, executive officer on the CSS Louisiana regarding action of 24 April, 1862.  6.)  Report of Lt. R. F. Warley and general order commending the crew of the CSS Manassa regarding action of 24 Apr. 1862 in which the Manassa was sunk.  7)  Report from L. S. Grafton, surgeon on the CSS Louisiana on crew injuries in battle on April 24, 1862 during the seige of New Orleans.  The Louisiana was lost during the seige.  8.) Letter from the Conferderate States of America to the President, Feb. 7, 1863.  9.)  Special Order # 12 from the Headquarters, 1st Div., 25th Army Corps. regarding court martial of 1st Sgt Thomas P, Water, 43rd Colored Infantry, 23 Jan 1865.
