Description
An affidavit to renew a chattel mortgage from Louis and Andrew Thompson to The Minneapolis Threshing Machine Co. It is printed on white paper which has been folded accordion-style so there are four panels on each side. 

Only one panel on the front page has text. When folded, it is the front page of the document. It reads, "No. 1203 / Affidavit to Renew Chattel Mortgage. / Louis & Andrew Thompson / To / The Minneapolis Threshing / Machine Co. / State of Minnesota / County of Scott / I hereby certify that the within instrument was filed in this office on / the 18th day of November / A.D. 1895 and after being filed was / by me attached to the original Chattel / Mortgage on file. / Peter J. Baltes / Town Clerk / The officer who files this Affidavit will / confer a great favor by filling up and mailing / to us the Postal Card enclosed, / THE M. T. M. CO."

The inside is printed with the page in a vertical position. It reads, "9035-6-7 / Affidavit to Renew Chattel Mortgage. / State of Minnesota / County of Hennepin. / J. B. BUSHNELL, being duly sworn on his oath says: That he is the Secretary of / The Minneapolis Threshing Machine Company, (a corporation under the laws / of the State of Minnesota,) Mortgagee, named in and now the holder of a certain chattel mortgage, / executed by Louis Thompson, Andrew Thompson / To THE MINNEAPOLIS THRESHING MACHINE COMPANY, which mortgage bears the date / the 21 day of March A.D. 1892 / and was on the 27 day of March A.D. 1892 / duly filed in the office of the Town Clerk / in and for the Town of New Market in said / County of Scott State of Minnesota. / That the property named in said chattel mortgage is described as follows, to-wit: / 1 Vic. 36x52 sepi (sp?) : 1 Black mare mule "Jennie" 5 yrs old : 1 red cow 6 yrs. old : / 1 Black mare mule "Maggie" 10 yrs. old : 1 Grey cow 4 yrs old : 1 Light Grey cow 4 yrs old : / 1 Brown cow 6 yrs old : 1 Dark Brown cow 7 yrs old : All earnings of / machine for which these notes are given. / A copy of said Chattel Mortgage is hereto attached. / That the sum of Eight hundred + twenty five + 82/100 ($825.82) + Interest / Dollars is now remaining unpaid upon and secured by said mortgage, which sum constitutes the / extent of the interest of said THE MINNEAPOLIS THRESHING MACHINE COMPANY in / and lien upon the property therein mentioned, which lien it claims by virtue of such mortgage. / J. Beneath "A.D. 1895," there is a faint embossment of a seal, presumably the notary seal belonging to W. H. Ritchie.
