Photograph of Glenwood Summer Hotel, in Long Beach, Minnesota. This black and white glossy photograph of two men salvaging lumber as they dismantle the Minnewaska Summer Hotel was taken by Vernon Studio, Glenwood.
The photograph was published in the Glenwood Herald on 5 September 1946 on page one. The caption reads: "Loie Star, Glenwood, is seen handing a roof plank to John A Malecha, Glenwood , as razing operations at the Minnewaska Summer Hotel continue. Edgar Wedum of the Glenwood Lumber Co., present owner of the structure, plans to use the lumber and other materials for salvage, he disclosed this week." A longer article on the history of the hotel was published in the Glenwood Herald on 19 September 1946.

Glenwood Summer Hotel, aka Minnewaska Summer Hotel, built 1919, razed 1946, sat on the north shore of Lake Minnewaska between the lake and "Shallow Pond." Names through the years from the telephone directory: 1921 Minnewaska Hotel; 1922 Minnewaska Health Resort; 1933-1937 Glenwood Summer Hotel; 1938-1939 Long Beach Hotel; 1940 no listing; 1941-1942 National Youth Administration Residence Center.
