Includes details about how Virginia Schumacher bought 12 yards of brocaded taffeta in Shanghai, China, in 1948 while she was working as a civilian for the U.S. Army and was posted to Yokohama, Japan from January 1947 to May 1948. The dress was made by a local dressmaker in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Related to a wedding dress that was worn in 4 weddings: Virginia Schumacher to Lester Anderson in 1952 and her 3 daughters including Catherin Anderson to James Hagen in 1976, Nancy Anderson to Craig Navis in 1987, and Barbara Anderson to Terry Whiteis in 1997.
