1931 – 1955Description
This soft white buckskin pair of moccasins have a hard sole, some of the fur still remaining on it. The fur has been worn off with use. Around the base of the shoe from tow to heel on the outer edge is a beaded band in red, white and blue. The band continues up the back of the heel to hide the seam.
A red, white and blue Chyenne shield -- a circular design -- is worked into the top of the instep. The edge of the leather has a delicate beaded trim of red and white beads.
These were made by Mary Inkanish to go with the buckskin dress 1966.1.331.
