Description

Small black pocket calendar in French for the year 1914 used by John W. Pilgrim as his soldier's diary during his service in World War 1.  Hand written entries on the corresponding dates.  Some pages have entries from two years, as his military service spanned more than one calendar year.  In addition to daily activities, the author notes the weather and what was served for meals.  Black elastic strap once held the book closed, but has lost its elasticity.
