Description

Hand stitched bed quilt.  Silks, satin and velveteen. Rail fence pattern with a black inner border and piano key outer border.  Pink satin backing (stained and frayed) rolled over as binding.  Yellow grosgrain ribbon bows on the back where the quilt has been tied together.  Cotton batting.  Made by Harrison-Stanford women of Bloomington.  Several generations were quilters.  Anna (Davis) Harrison, her daughter Esther (Harrison) Chadwick, and granddaughter Elizabeth (Chadwick) Stanford.  The quilt was most likely made by Anna Harrison.
