Title
Lithic flakes and shatterDescription
Artifacts found during the 2017-2018 Pope County Archaeological Survey.
Three flakes and one piece of shatter were found at this location. The flakes are of an unidentified chert, apparently all the same material. The two larger flakes of unidentified chert probably come from the same core. The piece of shatter is heat-treated Red River Chert. These flakes were found in proximity to the reported location of the copper point, and though association is unclear, they are considered one precontact site location.
