Photograph of a large Band Concert in Glenwood, Minnesota, Sunday, June 12, 1932. It was the ending event of a Band Festival held at the bandshell in the city park.
Earlier in the day, musical groups from Appleton, Benson, Morris, Hancock, Starbuck, Sauk Centre, Brooten, Brandon, Hoffman, Alexandria, and Glenwood performed individual concerts. At 7:30 the mass band (pictured) gave a concert. Musicians who were not part of the individual groups were also invited to join the mass band.
It was directed by Major George W. Landing. One number was conducted by Casper Johnshoy.
Casper Johnshoy is standing at the far right side in front of the date on the bandshell. Erling "Mike Wollan is standing next to him. Carl Ettesvold is the man standing on the ground at the far right.
