Description

First entry dated 5 May 1889: a meeting called by the Fisk and Brooks Club and by the Prohibition Club, to listen to report of delegates to the Minneapolis Prohibition Conference to form a state league. Local group decided to organize and chose a committee to draft constitution and bylaws. Given in back of ledger is an official document "Northfield Prohibition League" with preamble and constitution.
10 May 1889: League officially formed. Officers and members are listed.
Official entries continue irregularly until 1892. Several loose notes, memoranda, many by or to W. J. Reilly. Most, if dated, are later than 1894 but were never written up as official business. Notes not individually accessioned.
