Description
Full Girl Scout junior uniform that belonged to Christine Prokopowicz, c. 1972-1974. Her group met at North Park Elementary School in Fridley. The uniform consists of the following six pieces.

Green, cotton-polyester blend, short-sleeved dress that buttons up the front with dark green buttons. On the left sleeve just below the shoulder is a green patch that reads "Girl Scouts USA". On the left breast pocket is pinned a gold-colored pin of a spread-winged eagle with a shield in front of it, and the initials "G.S." above; this is a Girl Scout leader pin. This particular pin is recent (c. 2000-2019), having belonged to Christine's daughter, but is identical to the leader pin that Christine had in the 1970s.

Green wool beret-style hat with a green and white "GS" patch. The patch as attached, pleated ribbon in white, green, and red. An interior label reads "Made in France." The patch is a Cadette cockade, and the hat would not have been worn with this particular dress after that was added to it.

Dark green shoulder sash (worn over the right shoulder), possibly made of polyester or a polyester-cotton blend. On the half that goes over the chest are twenty-three (23) patches. At the top is a green and red patch that reads "Greater Minneapolis", one featuring a sprig of lily-of-the-valley flowers, and the troop number 701, below which are three round, yellow pins with gold-colored six-pointed stars on them. The remaining patches are on the lower portion, and represent different achievements that Christine accomplished in her time as a Girl Scout. On the half of the sash that goes over the back are seven additional achievement patches, all on the lower part of the sash.

Green and yellow felt epaulette (for the left shoulder), with gold-colored cord that looped under the arm. The epaulette attaches with a pin on its underside.

Yellow fabric bow tie, pre-tied, with the green Girl Scout "GS" logo embroidered on each side of the bow in green. It fastens at the collar of the dress with a pin attached to the back.

Dark green elastic belt with dark metal buckle. The buckle features the same spread-winged eagle with shield insignia as described for the leader pin above.
