Description
Baptismal gown and slip from the Schultz and Horner families, 1947-2003. It was made in 1947 by the donor's mother, Izene Schultz, and Izene's sister made the lace for the edges. The first to wear it was Izene's son Dennis Schultz in 1947, and then her daughter, Janice, in 1949. Janice later used it for her children after they moved to Anoka County: Lindsey Swenson-Lee, Dane Swenson, and Blair Horner (1973, 1975, 1982). The last member of the family to wear it was Sumer Olsen, in 2013.

White cotton christening gown with hand-made lace at collar, cuffs, and hem; white embroidery on the front. Slit opening at the back, no fastener. There is a pink ribbon and a blue ribbon; the appropriate color would be pinned to the front of the gown to match the gender of the baby.

Matching white cotton slip, with hand-made lace at collar, armscye, and hem. Ribbon and pin closure at shoulders, one blue ribbon, one pin ribbon. White embroidery along bottom front matches embroidery on christening gown.
